Walker Privacy Policy
Walker ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we process, why we process it, and what choices you have when you use the Walker app.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Walker iOS app and related support communications.
2. Data We May Process
- Health data (Apple Health / HealthKit): walking/running distance and cycling distance (when available) to calculate and display your route progress.
- Usage analytics: in-app events such as sync actions, feature usage, paywall views, purchase flow events, and app reliability signals.
- Technical identifiers: app/device technical identifiers used for analytics consistency and product diagnostics.
- Approximate IP-based location: a coarse location estimate from your network IP to select a nearby route start on initial setup.
- Notification preferences and status: whether notifications are enabled, to manage optional city-arrival and daily summary alerts.
3. Why We Process Data
- To display and update your progress in Walker.
- To provide core product features (daily goals, route progression, optional alerts).
- To improve app performance, reliability, and usability.
- To support one-time purchase functionality and restore purchases.
4. Health Data and Permissions
Walker requests access to your health information through Apple HealthKit in order to advance your progress along walking routes. Specifically, Walker reads your walking, running, and cycling distance to calculate how far you have traveled and how much progress to display on your current route.
This health data is used exclusively within the app to power route progression and is never sold or shared with third parties. You can deny or revoke Health permissions at any time in the Health app or iPhone Settings. If access is revoked, Walker will no longer be able to update your route progress.
5. Notifications
Notifications are optional. If enabled, Walker may send local alerts for city arrivals and daily summaries. You can disable notifications at any time in iPhone Settings.
6. Sharing and Service Providers
We do not sell personal data. We may use trusted service providers to operate the app, including analytics and platform services (for example, Apple services for HealthKit, StoreKit, and notifications).
7. Data Retention
We retain data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- Revoke Health access in the Health app or iPhone Settings.
- Disable notifications in iPhone Settings.
- Contact us to request support or exercise applicable privacy rights.
9. Children's Privacy
Walker is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data beyond what is described in this policy. If a parent or guardian believes their child has provided personal data without consent, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10. International Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, subject to appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at the published Privacy Policy URL.
